About the programme, your daily sessions, unlocking resources, your certificate, and staying safe.
01
The programme
What is Sober7?
Sober7 is a seven-day guided programme to help you stop drinking alcohol. Each day is a 90-minute session with six tasks: a check-in, a video on what alcohol does to your mind and body, Q&A with a short quiz, an inspirational talk, a workbook, and a commitment for the next 24 hours.
After Day 7 you get a digital certificate and 14 more days of open access to every resource.
Who is Sober7 for?
Anyone who wants to stop drinking or take a serious break, whether you drink every day or mostly at weekends. You don't need to call yourself an alcoholic to benefit.
If you drink heavily every day or have had withdrawal symptoms before, please read the health and safety answers and speak to a doctor before you start.
Is it only for alcohol?
For now, yes. Alcohol is our first programme. Programmes for other habits and addictions are planned.
How much time do I need each day?
About 90 minutes: Check-in (5), Mind & body video (20), Q&A (20), Inspiration (10), Workbook (30) and Commitment (5). You can pause and come back. Your progress is saved after each task.
Can I do more than one day at a time?
No. Sober7 opens one day at a time. When you complete a day, the next one unlocks at midnight, so each session has a full day to sink in before you build on it.
The lock icons show where you are: a green open lock is a completed day (always open to revisit), a blue open lock is today's day, a peach lock opens at midnight, and a lavender lock is a later day.
What if I miss a day?
Nothing is lost. An unlocked day stays open until you complete it, so just continue where you left off. The day after it unlocks at midnight once you finish. If you drank on the missed day, see "What if I drink during the programme?"
Is Sober7 a replacement for medical treatment?
No. Sober7 is an educational programme. It works well alongside support from a doctor, counsellor or peer group, but it doesn't replace medical care, especially if you're physically dependent on alcohol.

Joining & your account
How do I join?
Press "Quit Alcohol Addiction" on the home page, enter your name and email, and pay ₹999 (one-time) by UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM and others) or debit/credit card. Payments are handled securely by Razorpay; we never see your card details.
Straight after paying you'll get a confirmation email with a link to set up your account: your password, phone (optional) and course language.
How much does Sober7 cost?
₹999, paid once. That covers all seven guided days, 14 more days of open access to every resource, and your certificate. There are no subscriptions or hidden charges.
You can pay by UPI or debit/credit card. Not happy? Cancel within 24 hours of paying for a full refund. For group or workplace access, contact us.
Not happy? Can I get a refund?
Yes. Cancel within 24 hours of paying and you get a full refund, no questions asked. Log in, open your profile (your initials, top right) and choose "Cancel course & refund".
The refund goes back to the UPI account or card you paid with. Banks usually take 5–7 working days to show it. After 24 hours the payment can't be refunded.
I paid but didn't get the confirmation email.
Check your spam or promotions folder for an email from contact@sober7.org. You can send it again from the log in page: enter your email and press "Log in", then "Send the email again". Still nothing? Contact us with your payment ID.
How do I log in?
Press "Log in" at the top right and enter your email and password. Only members who have paid for the course can log in. Once you're in, your initials replace the "Log in" button; press them to see or change your details.
I forgot my password.
On the log in page, press "Forgot password?" and enter your email. We'll send you a link to choose a new one. The link works for 2 hours.
Can I change my details?
Yes. Open your profile to change your name, phone number, course language or password. Your email address can't be changed because it identifies your membership; contact us if you need help with it.
Can I switch between my phone and laptop?
Yes. Log in on any device and your progress, answers and certificate details follow you, because they're saved to your account.
How do I start over?
Use "Reset my progress" at the bottom of any page. This clears your tasks, answers and certificate details and can't be undone.
03
Daily sessions
Why can I only see one task at a time?
Each task prepares you for the next, so the day works best in order. Tasks unlock one by one. In the left panel, a closed lock means a task is locked, an open lock means it's ready, and a green open lock means it's done. You can revisit any task you've finished.
Why can't I complete a task?
Some tasks need something from you first:
- Check-in: pick a number on the scale.
- Q&A: answer every quiz question.
- Workbook: write something for every prompt.
A message under the button tells you what's missing.
Does it matter if I get quiz answers wrong?
No. The quiz is there to help the key points stick. You'll see the right answer and a short explanation either way.
A video won't play.
The daily videos are hosted on YouTube. If one won't play inside the page, use the "Watch on YouTube" link under it, then come back and press "I've watched it". Check your internet connection, and try another browser if a video still won't load.
Who can see my workbook answers?
Only you. Your answers are saved to your private account so you can continue on any device. They're used only to run your course, and we never share or sell them. On a shared computer, remember to log out when you finish.
Can I change my workbook answers later?
Yes. Open the day again from the glossary or from Resources, go to the Workbook task and edit. Changes save as you type.
04
Resources & certificate
How do resources unlock?
Each day you complete unlocks four things in Resources: that day's two videos, its workbook and one tool. By Day 7 all 28 are unlocked.
- Day 1: My reasons
- Day 2: Play the tape forward
- Day 3: HALT check
- Day 4: Urge timer, SOS list and if-then plans
- Day 5: Support circle
- Day 6: Evening plan
- Day 7: 14-day check-in tracker and full workbook download
Emergency and helpline numbers are always available, whatever day you're on.
What happens after Day 7?
You get your digital certificate, and your 14 days of open access begin. Rewatch any video, use the craving tools, log each alcohol-free day in the check-in tracker, and download your full workbook.
What happens when the 14 days end?
Resources close, but your certificate stays available. Download your workbook before then so you keep your answers. To keep going, we suggest a local or online support group, or ongoing help from your doctor.
How do I get my certificate?
Complete all six tasks on all seven days. Your certificate opens automatically after Day 7. Type your name, then download it as an image, or print it or save it as a PDF, from the Certificate page.
Can I change the name on my certificate?
Yes. Edit the name on the Certificate page and press "Update certificate", then download it again.
Is the certificate an accredited qualification?
No. It records that you completed the Sober7 programme. It's a personal milestone, not a medical or professional credential.
05
Health & safety
Is it safe to stop drinking suddenly?
For many people, yes. But if you drink heavily every day, drink in the morning, or have had shaking, sweating, hallucinations or seizures when cutting down before, stopping suddenly can be dangerous. Speak to a doctor before you stop. They can support a safe, medically managed withdrawal.
What withdrawal symptoms are normal, and when should I get help?
In the first few days, many people have poor sleep, headaches, sweating, irritability, anxiety or low mood. These usually ease within a week.
Call 112 straight away if you have a seizure, hallucinations, severe confusion, severe shaking or a racing heart. These can be signs of dangerous withdrawal.
Are there medicines that can help?
Yes. Doctors can prescribe medicines that make withdrawal safer and others that reduce cravings or help prevent relapse. Whether any are right for you depends on your health, so ask your doctor.
What if I drink during the programme?
A slip doesn't erase your progress. Be honest with yourself and your support person, look at what triggered it, and carry on with your next session. Day 7 covers how to stop a slip turning into a return to old habits. If you find you can't stop, please talk to a doctor.
I'm pregnant, or have a health condition. Can I take part?
Stopping drinking is good for your health, but please involve your doctor so they can support you safely, especially if you're pregnant, take regular medication, or have a liver, heart or mental-health condition.
Drinking is affecting my mental health. What should I do?
You don't have to wait until you've finished the programme to get support. Call Tele-MANAS on 14416 (free and available 24/7 in India) or speak to your doctor. If you're in immediate danger, call 112.
06
Support
Should I tell my family or friends?
Telling at least one person you trust makes a real difference. Day 1 asks you to choose someone, and Day 5 helps you build a wider support circle and practise saying no to drinks.
Someone I care about drinks too much. Can they use Sober7?
Yes, if they choose to. People do best when the decision is their own. Share the site, offer to be their support person, and avoid pressure or blame. Family support groups can help you too.
Where can I find a support group?
Alcoholics Anonymous and SMART Recovery run free meetings in many cities and online. Your doctor may also know local groups and counselling services.
No questions match that search. Try a different word, or browse the categories.
Need help now?
If you're in danger or struggling, reach out. You don't have to finish the programme first.
